Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Overview
FreePayrollCalc ("we," "our," or "the Site") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use FreePayrollCalc, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
This policy applies to all users of freepayrollcalc.com and is designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and applicable US federal privacy standards.
No Payroll Data Collection
FreePayrollCalc does not collect, store, log, or transmit any payroll information you enter into our calculators. All calculations run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you type a salary, deduction amount, or any other figure into a calculator, that data never leaves your device — it is never sent to our servers or any third party.
We have no database of user payroll inputs. We cannot access, retrieve, or share data you entered into any calculator because we never receive it.
Cookies
We use the following types of cookies on this site:
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ad Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — how many people visit, which pages are popular, and what devices are used. No personally identifiable information is collected through Google Analytics. Data is aggregated and anonymized.
- Functional cookies: We do not use any first-party session or preference cookies beyond what is technically required for the site to function.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the display of advertisements but will not affect calculator functionality.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage. Data collected includes: pages visited, time on page, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic region (country/state level). IP addresses are anonymized. We do not share Analytics data with any third party beyond Google, and we do not use it to personally identify visitors.
Google's use of Analytics data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense
We participate in the Google AdSense program. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads based on users' visits to our site and other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Privacy Policy.
We have enabled Google's interest-based advertising features. As required by Google's publisher policies, we disclose this use of personalized advertising and provide a mechanism for users to opt out.
Third-Party Services
The following third-party services may process data about your visit:
- Google LLC (Analytics + AdSense) — Privacy Policy
- Vercel Inc. (hosting infrastructure) — Vercel processes server access logs (IP address, user agent, request path) as part of standard web hosting operations. These logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes only. — Privacy Policy

FreePayrollCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through our site, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
California Residents — CCPA Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request information about what personal data we have collected about you in the past 12 months, including the categories of data, sources, business purpose, and third parties with whom it is shared.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information to third parties. California residents may still submit a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information request; we will confirm that we do not engage in such sales.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@freepayrollcalc.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
EU / UK Residents — GDPR Rights
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to or restrict certain processing. As we do not collect personal data through our calculators, the primary data processed about you relates to analytics and advertising cookies served by Google. To exercise your rights regarding Google's data processing, visit myaccount.google.com or contact Google directly.
Data Retention
We do not retain any payroll inputs you enter. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our configuration. Vercel server access logs are retained for no more than 30 days. We have no other data retention obligations related to user-submitted information.
